New building exterior view: focus on nature & sustainability
Wood and light dominate and create ambience
Grey felt panels with a dual function: as acoustic absorbers ...

Panels in the classroom: Grade 1 for indoor air, sound + optics
Teaching has been taking place at Dachsberg Grammar School for more than 100 years. In order to provide space for the ever-increasing number of students, a 1,200 m² extension with six new classrooms and a sports hall was built.
"The teaching staff at ORG Dachsberg imparts more than just classic classroom knowledge: this is about heart education, ecological education and a sense of democracy. It is taught that freedom means making decisions for the good of creation."
Director P. Ferdinand Karer describes 'his' high school in a touching, profound and heartfelt way.
This thinking suggests that when the school building was extended, it was not just a question of creating an inspiring learning environment, but of sustainability and environmental compatibility also playing a central role.
Accordingly, the Matulik architectural office worked with a lot of natural wood, which is visibly everywhere. Well hidden, Isolena sheep's wool insulation also contributes to the success of the innovative building project.
Rooms with atmosphere were created; room sound and air quality were ensured with grey and green panels made of acoustic felt. A successful lighting concept adds a finishing touch for this particular project.
The extension building on the site of the former Dachsberg Castle sets a milestone in the development of the school. Future-oriented and resource-saving, it was built for this generation and the following ones.
